Paul and I have been toying with the idea of starting our own yoga/fitness studio for over a year now. We thought that we would have our two babies plus Izzy of course and than start the business.
I am always amazed how when you least expect something it falls into your lap.
While in Sun Valley I was looking at local real estate ads in Brookings, which I do on a regular basis (I have Trump aspirations). While dreaming I found an interesting house on 6th street here in Brookings that I thought would make a nice studio, so I called our realtor right away when we got home. When I called her she told me about a weird deed restriction on the property not allowing renters in it. I then explained that I wanted to use it as a hot yoga studio not as a rental property.
This is the point when a new chapter opened up in our lives.
Our realtor informed me that her and another local business owner bought the old First Bank building and where opening up a restaurant, boutique, salon, and nail bar . They had a large space open in the back by the salon and after asking around town most people suggested a Hot yoga studio in the space.
What a coincidence!!
I know that this is the opportunity I've been looking for.
I love the idea of all of the spaces together under one roof. In South Dakota our winters are so horrid, that a space with all of these amenities under one roof is ideal. I really like all of the girls involved in the various spaces, and I especially love the fact that it will be a owned by young women.
We are signing the lease tomorrow and starting renovations asap.
We hope to be open by October 15th!
Before pictures of the studio to follow this week!
Wish us luck!
I am so excited and nervous all at the same time!
