New photos

Well we have all been very busy. The semester is finally over, our lab's first publication (with Deena as first author and me as last) has been accepted, Izzy is growing and playing outside with the young neighborhood kids

Izzy's lemonade stand was a big hit!

and John is now over 13 pounds.

I love this photo!

He is getting to be really interesting, even if he wakes us up every 2-3 hours during the night! He babbles quite a lot and I have quite long "conversations" with him. He has also discovered his fingers in the last few days and plays with them and looks at them a lot. He also smiles when I come in and that is just wonderful!

A week or so back, we went to the zoo and that was a great day out. We all loved the baby monkey and then went shopping followed by a huge meal at the Brazilian restaurant. Wonderful. Last week, I was in DC for a USDA project director's meeting. The meeting was great as I met my old friend Thomas Eulgem from Cologne. It was nice to catch up and have a few beers.....actually he, Sen and I had quite a few beers......

Drunk? Us? No!

Actually I am going to send Thomas the URL of our blog so I want to put a better photo of him up (I am sure he has lots of embarrasing photos of me!) - It was great to see him again.

Anyway, the trips there and back were nightmares. I had to run accros Chicago O'Hare airport twice, all four flights were delayed and when I arrived in DC, I had to wait almost 2 hours until I could get out of the plane! No wonder I was sooooooooooo pleased to be back with my family.

I really missed them and so here are a few photos from the last few weeks.

Not sure what they were talking about.

I love this photo.

More soon.
